Remember a few posts back when I wrote about how cool gumball machine fabric would be? Well, in an ongoing effort to be a "do-er" rather than a dreamer I finally took advantage of my Spoonflower invitation letter and designed my own, which arrived in the mail today! It will be turned into pants for the little one, but I'm also thinking kitchen curtains could be pretty nifty out of this.
This was my first ever fabric designing and it was really fun! The toughest part was deciding what the heck to design. If I suddenly can have fabric with any print in the world I turn into a deer in creative headlights. I want to design hundreds of prints so how do I pick one! Just pick one. Just start somewhere.
I used to be one of those people who had all kinds of ideas and never acted on them. It has been several years of effort to turn myself into a "do-er" and this fabric is just one example of how I've truly changed. A few years ago I would have said "Wouldn't it be cool..." but then sit on my butt until someone else does it and then complain, "Hey! I thought of that months ago." Which made me discouraged and even less likely to act on the next idea. No good.
So...what idea are you sitting on? Get off your butt and get it done this week!
