Went to the Police (& Elvis Costello) show last night. It really blew my mind. I'm not a big Costello fan (sorry, no tomato throwing please, my husband loves him so it make up for my neutrality) but the Police are classic. It was perhaps the best concert I've ever been to. So amazing, seriously, it was inspiring.
One of the first times music got me in trouble was from the Police song, Roxanne. I was six. My best friend's mom's name was Roxanne and I innocently sand the song for her, then asked if it was about her. I had no idea what it meant, just that a red dress and a red light were involved, which sounded perfectly normal to me at the time. Unfortunately, she didn't have a sense of humor about it and told my parents about my inappropriate music. The funny part is of course that my parents were the ones listening to them in the first place.
