We brewed a special honey wheat beer for our winter party this year and it turned out great. I really love the "old world" tradition of brewing seasonal beers.
Of course my favorite part is selecting the caps and designing the label...and of course picking a name for it. This one was "Here Comes the Sun" a winter solstice brew, although we enjoyed them on Christmas.
Here are some pics from our holiday celebration at my brother in law's house. I can't take credit for anything in these four photos, other than the poor photography. Hey, it was the best I can do while balancing a baby on one hip who was trying to grab the camera.
I've really been thinking lately about how truly lucky we are in so many ways. Now that the busy holiday craze is over and we are back in the lull (well, almost) of normal life I'm enjoying just sitting back and realizing how fortunate we are. These feelings are really making me want to pare back and simplify more...so we can give more. But more on this later...
We are headed to our dear friends' home to have champagne, cheese and a fantastic dinner tomorrow night to welcome the new year. Hope your new year celebration is full of good food, family, friends and fun!
