I'm an artist. Mother. Ceramic artist. Wooden craftswoman. Drinker of wine. Eater of coconuts. I try to have a garden. I have chickens. I like to sew and make stuff. I dance. I collect rocks. I write humor books in my "spare" time.
I'm eclectic. I like it that way.
Each design is hand drawn, hand cut, wood burned, painted, sanded and sealed by me alone. Although my work has been sold in stores across the US, I've scaled back significantly in recent years. My original work is only available from me directly via my shop.
I'm also the creative gal behind the curtains of these info-publishing websites which have paid the bills for many years and are what originally allowed me to quit my day job (as a designer for a music label) back in 2004:

Despite all these groovy things, I'm probably most notable for my illustrated
humor blog Illustrated with Crappy Pictures® and my bestselling parenting humor book, Parenting: Illustrated with Crappy Pictures which came out in 2013. (UPDATE: And followed by Marriage: Illustrated with Crappy Pictures which was released in 2014.) And the entire "crappy" story started right here on this personal blog, when a post I wrote as a joke went viral.
As if I'm not busy enough, I have a whole slew of other hobbies that I like to dabble in that I share here from time to time, when time permits. Which is almost never. Go figure.
I'm a country mouse turned city suburban mouse and live with my husband, two hilarious sons, two naughty black cats, one funny looking dog, a fish, a bearded dragon and 7 chickens.
