Everybody has some regular exercise thing they do. All the cool kids do yoga. Or pilates. Or they bike places. Or go to the gym.
Me? I got nothing. I've never even taken a yoga class. I do own a few yoga DVDs, but I've never watched them so I don't think that counts.
Years ago I was a bellydancer...use to teach weekly and perform regularly. I had a closet full of beautiful costumes and my abs were made of steel. But I haven't danced professionally in years. Recently, after seeing bellydancers at a festival, my 3.75 year old son was in awe. He thought they were magical. I tried to convince him that I too was once a "real bellydancer" and confused, he asked, "So you were a bellydancer? And now you're just a mama?"
Sigh. Yeah, pretty much sums it up.
Thing is, I know it isn't very healthy to not have regular exercise. So I have to find something I can do. At home. More or less daily. That isn't boring.
Hula hooping? I've seen it get popular here over the last few years and it is hard not to get inspired by seeing someone who is really good at it. And by good at it I mean like this video. Plus, the hoops are purdy.
So we're gonna hula hoop for a month and see what happens.
Do you do anything for regular exercise? Do tell!
