Remember how I asked for paint ideas for the garden closet we were getting? Well it arrived fast and unexpected over the weekend. So I did what any creative impatient person would do. I forgot about all my ideas and just used whatever I already had.
We made sure to sand it and prime it before adding colors since it has to endure being outside.
We didn't bother to paint the inside. Too excited to get it in place! Our stuff fits in here so neatly. Love it.
Here it is! We wound up with purple, white and turquoise. The white was leftover from the house and playhouse trim, the turquoise was leftover from the front porch bench and the purple was a full quart that I originally bought for repainting the dining chairs we found but painted them white instead.
The entire time we were painting I was saying, "I'm not so sure about this" much to the annoyance of my husband, who was likely fearing having to start over.
But once the paint dried, we moved it next to the playhouse and now I love it! It makes me want to eat lollipops, decorate cookies with sprinkles and wear colorful aprons. (And no, despite how this blog may represent me, this isn't my mood by default.)
By the way, the playhouse still isn't "done" in my mind and so I still haven't shared the "before" photos of it. It is empty and I'd still like to furnish it with a few things. A small table and chairs? Should I change those plain door handles to fancier ones that match the black garden closet ones? I'd like to make house numbers too. And a little path walking up, and some landscaping...
